Shirlee Ann Reissman

Shirlee Shoemaker Reissman, 76, died November 19, 2009 at home. Mrs. Reissman was born, November 10, 1933 at Larimer County Hospital now Poudre Valley Hospital to George and Stella Morgan Shoemaker. Shirlee was a lifelong resident of Fort Collins, Colorado. She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1952, went on to complete secretarial school, received her LPN in 1955, and later became a licensed surgical assistant and worked for surgeons in Fort Collins. Shirlee married Bob Prewitt in 1958. Bob passed away in 1961. She then went to California in 1962; met and married Jerry Reissman. They were married in Mexico and then returned to Fort Collins in 1967. The Reissman renewed their vows in Bellvue, Colorado in 1979. They moved to Wellington in 1973 and started J & S Appliance Service, which they operated for 15 years. Jerry died on August 6, 2000. Mrs. Reissman was survived by Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bob Maxwell of Cheyenne, Wyoming; cousins, Rick Windson and Burt Maxwell of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Nancy Huffer of Centennial, Wyoming, Jay Shoemaker, Jr. , Janice McBeth and Beth Denkel , all of Fort Collins. Preceding Shirlee in death are her parents, many aunts and uncles and dear friends. She wanted her friends and neighbors to know how much she loved, cherished and appreciated them. A Funeral Service will take place, Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at River of Life Fellowship in Wellington. Interment to follow at Wellington Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Shirlee has requested that memorial contributions be made to either Hospice or because of her love for animals, Dr. Thomas Specializes in Elder Pet Care in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W.
