Shawn Dixon
July 17, 1968 – July 28, 2023

On July 28, 2023 Shawn passed away peacefully and comfortably at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins Colorado. He was the youngest of three children (Laurie Wiedeman and Gay Dixon). Their parents being Julie and Gary Dixon. He was born in New Castle, Wyoming on July 17th, 1968 and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 2.

Shawn was well known and loved throughout Larimer County. His bright smile and charismatic personality helped maintain friendships for decades. As a graduate of Rocky Mountain High School, he continued to work and reside in Fort Collins. Never far from his roots, he enjoyed summers in the Black Hills of South Dakota at the family homestead. Shawn has a large family residing in Colorado and Wyoming. Up until his passing he cared for his mother Julie.

Shawn had a natural ability to excel at many sports. Most of all he loved golf and playing billiards. He was a long-time active member of the BMW Billiards VNEA Players Advisory Board. He was a player in the leagues for almost 40 years. His favorite football team was always the Raiders. Even though he got a lot of flack living in the same state as the Broncos. He enjoyed a good road trip, and many were taken with his family coast to coast.

Shawn has one daughter (Allyson Dixon) with Nicole Dixon. He loved being a dad most of all and was always ready to set up an obstacle course, have his nails painted or make custom pancakes for his daughter and her friends. He was there for every soccer game and swim meet she had.

On August 31st at the Grandview Cemetery at 2pm, a service will be held for Shawn. The location is at the west end of Mountain Ave, between the second and third trees to the south. A gathering at the City Park Pavilion #7 (near the fire station) will follow the service for family and friends. Please contact family members for additional information.
