Sharon Netik, long-time resident of the Fort Collins area, passed away unexpectedly on the 6th of April while in Wisconsin visiting family.
Sharon was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 26, 1944. She spent her teen years in Southern California where she met the love of her life, Michael. The two were married on December 23, 1961.
Sharon received her degree as a Registered Nurse from Front Range Community College and spent the majority of her career at Poudre Valley Hospital in the NICU until she retired after 32 years. She loved her babies!!
Sharon and Mike had three children, Jennifer Sprenger (Mike), Kevin Netik, and David Netik (Jennifer). Eight grandchildren; Eric (Laura), Kayla (Nick), Marissa, Sarah, Tyler, Brittanie, Zachary, and Caden. Six great grandchildren; Riais, Madison, Aiden, Sydney, Xander, and Emma. She is also survived by her loving sister Dolores (Roy) Starke of California.
Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband Michael, her father Wesley, her mother Elsie, and her brother Robert.
Sharon and Mike loved to travel and they enjoyed trips all over the world. Some of their favorite places were Rome, Italy, and their 2nd home Maui. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, "Grammy", and great-grammy. She lived for her family and her babies (by birth and by NICU life). You could always find her cheering for the Denver Broncos, and she loved her theater/Broadway shows. Cinderella was her favorite princess but she loved all things Disney. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 21st, at the First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover Street, Fort Collins, Colorado.
