Sam Ramirez was born in Fort Collins, CO. One of six children born to Serapio Sam, Sr. and Josie Ramirez. He went to school and grew up in Fort Collins. He later moved to Cheyenne, WY to work at the missile base. He also met his future wife Doris there. They were married in March of 1961. They had two children, Abraham Ramirez and Cynthia Marchetti (Steve).

In 1963 he moved his family to Southern California. There he learned to operate cranes. Ten years later they moved back to Fort Collins. He started his own crane service, which he operated until he retired at the age of 65.

Sam had four grandchildren, Adam Ramirez (Courtney), Josh Ramirez, Asia Lemons (Jeremy), and Steve Marchetti, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

He is survived by a brother, Reuben Ramirez (Alicia) and a sister, Christina Chavez (Ray).

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

Rest in peace our beloved Sam.

A celebration of Sam's life will be held at 10 am, Friday, December 12, 2025, at Timberline Church, South Auditorium. A reception will also be held at Timberline immediately following the service.
