Serapio Baca

Serapio Baca passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 30, 2016. Serapio was born November 27, 1929, in Dawson, New Mexico to Serapio Baca and Aurora Cordero. He moved to Fort Collins in July 1967. Together, he and his wife, Rosie raised 13 children.
Serapio enjoyed taking walks, feeding the squirrels at the Fort Collins Library, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, he always said that he felt that he was the richest man alive because of his family.

Serapio is survived by his children: Serapio G. Baca (Fort Collins), Raymond Baca (Phoenix, AZ), Patricia Reyna (Fort Collins), Virginia Baca-Devens (Fort Collins), Susan Steshyn (Tom) (Fort Collins), Diana Baca-Ragin (Herman) (Fort Collins), Marianne Morales (Marti) (Henderson, CO), David Baca (Wendy) (Loveland, CO), Christine Baca (Phoenix, AZ), Edward Baca (Fort Collins), Nancy Baca (Fort Collins) and his very special niece, Carmen Valdez and her family. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, siblings; his son, Johnny; and daughter, Dorothy.

A special thanks to the staff at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab and to Dr. David Schmidt and staff at Associates in Family Medicine for all the excellent care that has been provided.

Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
