Samuel Hunter Wood, age 31, formerly of Madison, CT passed away tragically on June 10, 2021. Sam was born on January 1, 1990 in Pittsburgh, PA and therefore became an avid Steelers fan. Having recently moved to Colorado, he was looking into career opportunities in the state and was excited about the upcoming summer in Fort Collins, CO.
Sam will be remembered for his kind personality, quick wit and contagious laughter. Everyone loved his wry and spontaneous comments as well as his open heart. He was always willing to help a friend in need.
Sam loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and being with friends and family enjoying the simple pleasures life had to offer. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. His last great act here with us was helping to save his dad's life by driving him across the country to Colorado to be surrounded by family and receive treatment as he battled an aggressive form of cancer.
Sam is survived by his father, Pete Wood, sister Meg Wood and her wife Cary Wood of Fort Collins, CO and his mother Trudy Wood of Guilford, CT along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 26th, at 11:00 AM at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
