Ruth D. McBeth passed away on November 1st, 2021 at Collinwood Assisted Living in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on November 2, 1919 in a farmhouse near Fairmont, Nebraska, an only child to Jennings "Bud" Heckman and Ethel (Lillie) Heckman.
Ruth graduated from Osceola High School in 1938 and married her high school sweetheart, James McBeth in 1939. The couple lived in Polk County Nebraska where James farmed for the next 18 years while Ruth stayed busy raising their four children. In 1957 the family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. Ruth continued her occupation as full-time homemaker while planting and harvesting a large garden to help feed their family. Ruth also babysat, sold Avon, Tupperware, and cookware. After James retired, they enjoyed years of RV travel, wintering in Harlingen, Texas with square dancing and trips to Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico. Ruth and James were married 81 years.
Ruth's faith in Jesus Christ guided her. Her deepest desire these past few years was to see her Savior. Ruth's greatest enjoyment in life was her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will always remember her wonderful roast beef dinners, the cinnamon rolls, pies, and cookies she lovingly made for them.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband James, and her granddaughter Katherine (Katie) Zimpfer. Surviving Ruth are her children: Donna Sowell (Jim) of Lincoln, NE; Larry McBeth of Aurora, CO; Linda Fuhrman (Roger) of Billings, MT; and Mary Zimpfer (Jerry) of Littleton, CO; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
