Ruth was born March 26, 1929, in Sanderson, Texas, to James and Helen Fahl. She left this world Oct. 16, 2007, in Loveland. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters in Ohio and Utah. Ruth attended nursing school at Holy Cross Hospital in Utah. She dedicated 30 plus years to caring for others. She married her beloved husband Bill on Jan. 10, 1953, in Utah. After following Bill around with the Army, they finally settled in Cheyenne, Wyo., where they had four boys, Mike, Bill, Joe and Tom. In the early 1960s, they settled in Colorado where they had two girls, Marie and Trina; and two more boys, Matt and Tony. They moved to Loveland in 1997, after all their kids finally left home. With all of her children married, she always said she never had in-laws, just more sons and daughters. One of her greatest joys was her 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She loved watching them grow, learn and explore life. For many years, she was active in the Catholic Church, taking communion to people who could not get out. She also volunteered at Sierra Vista Health Care Center, reading and singing to Alzheimer's patients. She was named volunteer of the year by Sierra Vista in 2003 and 2004. She wanted to be remembered as a loyal wife, a loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Nothing else mattered much to her. In her later years, she battled diabetes and lymphoma. Her love for her family, her sense of humor and especially her faith got her through the worst of times. She will be in our hearts always. She will be greatly missed. Rosary and memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Fort Collins. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name to the charity of choice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
