Ruth Frand

Ruth Frank went peacefully to be with her Lord on Oct. 7, 2005. She was born in Kimball, Neb., on Feb. 15, 1919, the sixth of six children, to George Adam and Amalie Krug Deines. At a young age, her family moved to Colorado and was among the early German-Russian settlers in the Fort Collins area. On Dec. 19, 1937, Ruth married Albert W. Frank in the local German Congregation Church. They had one daughter, Beverly. The Franks were in the farming and cattle feeding business for 28 years before moving to an east Fort Collins neighborhood in 1973. Ruth enjoyed cooking, helping her husband with the farming and later in life, spending time loving and keeping up with her four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Great Grammie." Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Calvin Strobel of Drake; grandchildren, Curt and Kelley Strobel and Kristi and Troy Niswender of Fort Collins, Steve Strobel of Parker and Scott Strobel and special friend, Jenny Lawrence, of Loveland; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Irma Hoffman of Fort Collins; her brother, Robert Deines of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Albert; her parents; three sisters, Katy Achziger, Nellie Hoffman and Marie Deines; and one precious great-granddaughter, Avery Niswender. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fort Collins Church of the Nazarene, 2101 S. Lemay Ave. Private interment services will be held.
