Ruth H. Doyle died April 3, 2009. She was born Oct. 18, 1925 in Ashland, Ohio, to William and Bertha Kestner. She attended Ashland schools, Capitol University and Western Reserve University. She married James H. Doyle of Ashland, on March 27, 1947. As many other young people did following World War II, they moved to Fort Collins, where Jim graduated from Colorado State University in 1949. During that time, Ruth worked for the Coloradoan and then for Withrow Title. They moved to La Junta, where he was employed by Adams State College. Jim began work for CSU Extension Service in 1951 and they enjoyed many friends in Pueblo, Canon City, and Delta before he was transferred to Fort Collins in 1967. Ruth loved her career as a housewife and mother but worked for Anesthesia Associates of Fort Collins for nine years while her children were in high school and college. She loved traveling, camping, gardening and the Colorado mountains. In recent years, she was active in Auntie Stone Questers and CSU Women's association. She is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughter, Kathleen Doyle of Golden; son, James W. Doyle of Burbank, Calif., and niece, Barbara Hower of Ashland, Ohio. At her request, no services will be held. If people wish, contributions may be made to Colorado Boys Ranch and Youth Connect in La Junta, Colorado, or to a charity of their choice.
