Listen to Obituary
Ruth Juanita Craft, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at Poudre Valley Hospital following a long illness. She was 87 years old.

Ruth was born on July 11, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Della and Ovia Masters. In 1945, her family relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she attended various schools.

On October 30, 1955, Ruth married Richard Craft. Together they built a life full of love, travel, laughter, and creativity. Ruth especially enjoyed exploring new places with her husband and took great joy in arts, crafts, and collecting toys and dolls.

She worked for several years at Teledyne Water Pik in Fort Collins and was known for her dedication and friendly spirit. Above all, Ruth was a devoted and loving mother. Her family meant the world to her, and she will be deeply missed by all those she nurtured and inspired.

She is survived by her children: her son, Rick Craft of Denver; and her daughter and son-in-law, Lora Lee Craft Sonday and Edward Joseph Sonday of Windsor.

She is also survived by her sisters: Betty Schneider of Fort Collins, Rosie Lamb of Arvada, Jewel Thornton-Mills of Loveland, Ohio, and Jean Dresser of Wittmann, Arizona. Ruth is also remembered by many loving nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; her parents: Della and Ovia Masters of Fort Collins; her brothers: Clyde Masters of Fort Collins, Melvin Masters and Lloyd Masters of Laporte, John Masters of Windsor, and Charles E. Masters of Loveland; and her sisters: Edna Shipp Jackson of Fort Collins, Sandra Langren of Greeley, Linda Erikson of Arvada, and Claudia Ping of Burlington, Iowa.

Ruth's warmth, generosity, creativity, and steadfast love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A service is not scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ruth's memory by making a donation to the Anschutz Cancer Center.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Poudre Valley Hospital; her physician, Dr. Doing of the UCHealth Heart and Vascular Clinic; the team at UCHealth Pulmonology Clinic; and the EMT services of Windsor for their compassion and care.
