Roscoe Park, 93, of Fort Collins departed to his heavenly home on January 2, 2010, at the Fort Collins Good Samaritan Village. He was born April 20, 1916 in Stockville, Nebraska to Lewis and Ethel Park. He graduated from Indianola HS in 1936. He moved to Fort Collins in 1937. In 1945 he was drafted into the Army and spent time at Camp Roberts in California. He married Esther Bailey on September 4, 1937, in Fort Collins. They lived in Fort Collins for more than 70 years. He worked on the Fisher County Line Farm during his yearly years in Ft. Collins. He later worked for Poudre Valley Bottling Works, Scottie's Furniture, the Railroad Roundhouse then worked many years for Larimer County as an equipment operator. He retired from CSU as a Stationary Engineer supervising the heating plant in 1977. Roscoe was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints where he served in many capacities. He was sealed to his family in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His greatest love was spending time with his family. He and Esther went dancing nearly every weekend. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and fixing items bought at garage sales. He was an accomplished bowler and bowled on many leagues. He was an avid sportsman and spent a lot of time fishing and camping in the Colorado Rockies. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their trailer and spending winters in Arizona. He is survived by his wife Esther and their five children; Pat BeDunnah and her husband Gary of Las Vegas, Charles Park and his wife Betty of Fort Collins, Don Park and his wife Connie of Lyons, Bernita Sterling and her husband Roger of Fort Collins and Greg Park and his wife Gwen of Salt Lake; twenty grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, three sisters and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at the Fort Collins Stake Center, 600 E. Swallow Rd. at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
