Listen to Obituary
Bobbie was a loving, caring, energetic wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was born in 1920 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of William and Wilhelmina Bach Petty. During her school years she developed her lifelong love of the challenge of learning. This love of learning remained with her throughout her 93 year active life. In 1939 at her church she met Arthur Weathers. They married in 1942. In 1955 they moved from Iowa to Ft Collins. They were involved in family and church activities, and enjoyed traveling and being grandparents. They shared a life together until Arthur's passing in 2001. Bobbie began her first career as a bank teller in her early 20's. After a break from working to be a full time mother, she returned to work as the personal assistant to the CSU chief of Police. She retired from this position in 1985. She and Arthur were the owners of Spic and Span Bakery. She loved to cook, sew and garden. Her strong belief in and love of God guided her life. She carried Christ's love in her heart and touched the lives of many people. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Weathers and sister, Wilma Strong. She is survived by daughter, Joellen Alflen; granddaughter, Chesaray Alflen; niece, Carol Rowley Dr. William Rowley; and nephew, Roger Strong. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobbie's name to Pathways Hospice. A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at LifePointe Church at 11:00 a.m.
