Roberta J. Kunze, 96, of Fort Collins, loving mother and grandmother, passed away December 19, 2020 at The Center at Rock Creek in Fort Collins. Roberta was born in Rochester, NY on December 13, 1924 to Raymond and Maybelle Hyland. She grew up in Rochester and worked for Eastman Kodak after high school graduation. Roberta married Dean Kunze on January 1, 1948. She attended Antioch College, but received her Bachelors in Education from CSU after having her family, in 1970.
Roberta taught Marketing and Distributive Education (business) at Fort Collins High School, and was a Career Counselor at Poudre High School in the 1970s and 80s. She was well known in the Fort Collins education and business community for her efforts in placing high school students in jobs throughout Fort Collins. Roberta was a gifted educator. She was well respected by her peers and loved by her students. Her enthusiasm and expertise had a major impact on many students' lives.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Kunze. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon, son, Scott, her grandchildren Matt, Mark and Corinne, and her great granddaughter, Olivia. Roberta was an exceptionally caring and involved mother and grandmother. She would do anything in support of her family's needs, which over 60 plus years were many. There are not enough words to express what she has meant to her family, who will miss her very much.
