In loving memory of Roberta Cortez who was born April 19, 1966 in Denver, Colorado and went to be with her Lord on May 15, 2011 at her home in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She is the loving wife of Richard Mercado; mother to Jessica Cortez, Samantha, Richard Jr., and Vanessa Mercado; and grandmother to Emily, Trynitee, and Sylas. Above all, Roberta lived for her family and friends. She enjoyed movies, music, watching her Broncos, card and computer games, crochet, quilting, reading, cooking and bingo. Roberta could light up the room with her smile, cheer a house with her laugh, and gave a lasting impression to all she met. Truly, the world is less bright in the hearts of those who knew her. Roberta is survived by her parents, Jesus Richard and Betty Cortez of Pueblo, Colorado, brother, Richard Cortez of Pueblo, twin brother, Robert Yolanda Cortez of Loveland, brothers, Steve Francine Cortez of Pueblo, Ray Bobbie Jo Cortez of Pueblo, and Eddie Natalie Cortez of Pueblo, her grandmother Dora Lopez of Denver, 30 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesus and Consuelo Cortez, grandfather, Lee M. Lopez and her brother-in-law, Theodore Mercado. Roberta will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Those who wish may view Roberta from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
