Robert L. Schafer

Robert L. Schafer, 74 of Ft. Collins passed away at home under the care of Hospice after battling years of prostate cancer and declining health. Robert was born October 8, 1933 in Ft. Collins to Henry and Lydia Schafer. His parents, two brothers, Fred and Arnie; three sisters, Helen, Leona, and Elma all preceded him in death. Bob was career military, serving in the United Sates Air Force until his retirement in 1965. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1995. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, flying, reading, the Rocky Mountains and Crystal Lakes. Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
