Robert Baxter Salisbury, age 85, was born January 24, 1926 in Laporte, Colorado to the late Walter and Norma Baxter Salisbury. He passed away February 6, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Robert was a resident of Colorado Springs formerly of Fort Collins, Colorado. Robert spent the first part of his youth on a ranch in Rist Canyon, later he went on to attend and graduate from Fort Collins High School. Robert joined the United States Army in November of 1948 and served in Field Artillery until April of 1958 when he was discharged at the rank of Master Sergeant. After his time in the Army, Robert became a Linoleum and Tile technician which he continued until his retirement. Robert was a lifetime member of BPOElks #804. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Salisbury; daughter, Lori Neubauer and husband Jeffrey; grandchildren, Scott Neubauer and Amanda Patterson and husband Bryant; great grandchildren, Aiden Neubauer and Kaden Patterson; and brother, Richard Salisbury. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive Street, Fort Collins, Colorado. Inurnment with Military Honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, Colorado.
