Robert "Bob" Eugene Ross of Windsor, CO - passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2024 at the age of 92. Bob lived a life filled with love, family, and hard work, leaving behind a legacy that touched many lives.

Born on August 10th, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri, was raised with a strong sense of resilience and resourcefulness. Despite challenges during his early childhood in Missouri and later stints in Chicago and California, he built lasting memories, from summers spent swimming and surfing in Oceanside to delivering ice and newspapers in Kansas City as a young boy.

Bob proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War, where he rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, and worked as an aircraft electrician. His time in the military shaped his strong work ethic, leadership skills, and enduring appreciation for life's opportunities.

On leave one weekend - he met the love of his life, Cheryl, and after a whirlwind romance the two got married in 1953 in Las Vegas. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work, raising a family and enjoying nearly seven decades of marriage. They cherished traveling, from road trips across the U.S. to adventures in Europe.

A skilled businessman and tradesman, Bob began his HVAC career as a sheet metal apprentice, then as a journeyman in Kansas City. He found an opportunity in the insurance business, where he and Cheryl started an independent agency. This is where his business acumen was developed. His dedication to his clients and natural charisma fed his entrepreneurial spirit. He soon found his way back into construction. Working for many years at US Engineering around the country before purchasing an established HVAC firm, Simpson Sheet Metal, in Fort Collins, CO. Bob earned a reputation for excellence throughout the region. His problem-solving ability and drive contributed to successful completion of projects.

Outside of his professional life, Bob had many passions, chief among them his love for classic cars. As an avid car collector, he found joy in restoring vintage automobiles, signage and other memorabilia. He also loved to bring that enthusiasm to local swap meets and compete in rallies like the Sugar Valley Rally or The Great Race. His collection is a testament to his mechanical skills and his deep appreciation for the beauty and history of the golden era of American Cars.

Bob was a devoted father to their two children, Sharon and Dennis, and a cherished grandfather to Amy, Jason, Dan, Megan, and Paige, and great-grandfather to Jordan and Cade. He was always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a trip to the local ice cream or burger stand.

Those who knew Bob will remember him as a strong, hardworking, and generous soul. Whether it was through his Navy service, his business endeavors, or his passion for cars, Bob touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
