Listen to Obituary
Robert Theodore Jones Jr. was born shortly after the stroke of midnight on January 1, 1951. He died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 68, Tuesday January 29, 2019 at home in Fort Collins.

Bob grew up in the Denver area, Lakewood and Applewood. He later graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 1969, As a young man he attended Colorado Mountain College and was on the Aspen Highlands ski patrol. He then went into the family business and made a living selling cars and modular homes in Northern Colorado.

In childhood Bob enjoyed Midget football and always loved things that went fast. Driving and tinkering with motorcycles and cars took up the majority of his teenage years.

In 1976 he married Joyce Dillard and together they had a daughter and three boys, Heather, Bob III, Cody and Brett. They raised the boys in the Longmont and Fort Collins area before divorcing in 1994.

In May of 2000, Bob met Katie Beverley at a computer course for American Homestar Manufactured housing. He and Katie soon became caring partners and soulmates. They would raise their young boys together. Bob was a caring father and stepfather and loved the boys deeply. He would do anything for them. He rarely missed a Little League Baseball game or high school basketball game. He later took pride in his grown children and adored his grandchildren. Bob traveled to Arizona often to spend time with the next generation. At home in Fort Collins his refrigerator was covered in photographs of family life events and accomplishments.

Bob was an avid Denver Bronco fan and Sundays throughout football season you would find him cheering the Broncos to hopeful victory surrounded by friends and family. He could spend 15 minutes creating the perfect beverage for the event. His signature libation, a pickled pigs foot at the bottom of the glass followed by ice, beer, V8 and any variety of pickled vegetables. Bob also enjoyed bowling, billiards, cards and FOX news. A staunch conservative Bob would defend his political views in heated debate. He had a kind if not somewhat crooked smile and eyes that crinkled to a close when he laughed...usually at his own jokes.

Bob continued to love all things fast throughout his adult life. He cherished his 1995 Heritage Softail Classic. Dressed in classic Harley gear, Bob would joyfully hit the road for an afternoon ride or a trip to Sturgis. He had no burning desire to board a plane and see the world, preferring instead the open air, open road and mile after mile of America the beautiful.

Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Heather; mother and father, Robert T. Jones, Sr. and Bertha Mae. Bob leaves behind many who mourn him. Three grown boys and their families. Robert III (Chandler, Arizona), his wife, Erin and their children, Robert IV and Leah. Cody (Red Feather Lakes) and his wife Nyssa. Brett (Fort Collins), He also leaves his life partner Katie Beverley, and two step children Ryan Beverley (Fort Collins) and Bobby Gamage (Kansas City). A brother Jim Jones (Fort Collins) his wife Carol. A sister Jennifer von Clemm (Palo Alto, California) her husband Peter and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family viewing will be held at Bohlender Funeral home on Tuesday followed by a joyous celebration of his life at his home in Fort Collins at four. All who loved and cared about Bob are welcome to join
