AULT - Robert (Bob) Freeman born to John M. Freeman and Jean T. Freeman, died peacefully in his sleep on February 18, 2019. Bob spent his younger years growing up in Oahu and as a teenager, moved to Tucson where he graduated from high school and was immediately drafted by the Navy and sent to Vietnam.
He then pursued his love of music with several different traveling bands as a drummer/singer. If you knew Bob, you've heard his stories of playing with some of the greats such as Merle Haggard and Faron Young. Bob was a Master meat-cutter from the time he was 16 and worked at many grocery stores as well as owning his own store in Ferncliffe. He was a Jack of all Trades and worked for many years at Highland Veterinary Clinic in Ault. Taking care of and saving animals has always been his passion.
Bob is survived by his wife Trish, his children Bobby, Gary and Andy, his sister Janine, brothers John and Tom, his step-children Brian, Tawnja and Mark plus grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bob was "bigger than life" and will be missed by many. He hated funerals but we will be having a Celebration of his Life on March 3rd from 11:00am - 2:00pm at the home of Susan Edwards, 710 Gregory Rd., Fort Collins CO 80524. We want it to be a happy occasion filled with lots of "Bob" stories.
If you wish to make a donation in his name, we suggest "Dogs of Destiny - Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue VA Chapter @dogsofdestiny, a non-profit organization in Hampton, VA -- owned and operated by his niece Destiny Shell. A most worthy organization.
