Robert "Dean" Christie, 79, of Fort Collins, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Poudre Valley Hospital. A celebration of life service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 533 N. Grant Ave., Loveland. Cremation has been completed. Mr. Christie was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Jamestown, Kan., the son of LaRoy Emile Christie and Julie Marie Herven Christie. He married Donna Dean Davenport on April 1, 1947, in Beloit, Kan. He was a resident of Fort Collins since 1962, moving here from Kansas. Mr. Christie worked as an electrician at Colorado State University and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Loveland; Elks No. 804; past member of the Five M's at FUMC. He played cribbage, built canoes and sailboats, made jewelry and loved to camp. He is survived by his wife, Donna Dean "Davenport" Christie of Fort Collins; a son, Rick Christie of Louisville; a daughter, Kathy Erickson of Helena, Mont.; a brother, Bill Christie of Salina, Kan.; five granddaughters; one grandson and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Loveland First United Methodist Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W.
