Robert Bob died peacefully on July 17, 2010 at Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins, surrounded by his beloved family. Bob was born December 18, 1929 to Russell Wendle and Helen Banning Amidon of Los Angeles, Calif. Bob's family moved to Worcester, Mass., when he was 4yrs old. He graduated from North High School, Worcester, Mass., in 1947. He earned his Associate's Degree at Boston University before joining the Naval Air Force. January 27, 1951, Bob married his best friend, Norma Ek in Worcester, Mass., and had three children, Debra, James, and Scott. Bob had a great work ethic, a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family. He had a long successful sales career and earned his MBA at Denver University in 1987. In 1973, Bob and Norma moved to Colorado and lived in Estes Park for 6 yrs before moving to Fort Collins living there for 32 years. Diagnosed later in life with Parkinson's, Bob became very active in the Parkinson's Support Group of Larimer County and was instrumental in coordinating a Music Therapy program specifically for Parkinson's patients. Bob was preceded by his grandson, Travis Goodman. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Norma; and three children, Debra Thomas, James Neda, and Scott Paula; his four grandchildren, Forrest, Heather Dean, Tawny Geoff, and Jeff; his five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kenna, Liam, Samatha and Patrick, and one great-great-grandson, Sean. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Roger and his nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson's Support Group of Larimer County in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at a later date.
