Richard "Dick" Eugene Sinclair entered into heaven on March 1, 2023 at his beloved home referred to as the "Ranch". He was 95 years old. Dick was born to Flora Bailey Sinclair and Fred Sinclair on December 16, 1927. Dick and his younger brother, William "Bill" Sinclair, grew up in the Cheyenne area. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Ann Afflerbach, on September 18, 1948 with a small family ceremony.

Dick served a tour in Japan while in inthe Army until 1947. He then attended the University of Wyoming, reveiving a Civil Engineering degree in 1951 on the GI bill. Dick returned to his country's service again as a Civil Engineer in the Air Force until 1958.

He and Shirley were blessed with a family of four children: Susan Keefe, Robert "Bruce" Sinclair (Marilyn), Joycelynn Maes, and Shannon McGuinness (Mark). In turn Dick and Shirley were made the proud grandparents of Russell Keefe, Megan Keefe, Tyler Keefe (Heather), Aaron Sinclair (Lindsay), Sarah Christensen (Dusty), Flora Maes, Jimmy Maes, Elly Jo Anderson (Rickey), Bailey McGuinness, Luke McGuinness, and Will McGuinness. Great grandchildren include Payton, Quinn, Dax, Brantley, Cadence, Crosby, Lily, Eva, Bobby, Martin, Iola, Larkin, and Teddy.

Dick's legacy is his family. Family gatherings were always attended well by everyone. All were welcomed at the table. Dick and Shirley were gracious hosts for whatever they did. They had a busy social life and traveled the world with family, friends, and business associates. Dick's work began in Ohio with Peter Kiewit. He returned to Denver with his growing family where he worked for the Jefferson County Schools and then for F.R. Orr Construction. Jobs with F.R. Orr Construction took him across the United States on various jobs. He helped build many Holiday Inn Hotels.

It wasn't unusual for Dick to load up the station wagon on the weekend when living in Denver for the "Sunday drive". A typical excursion might include Grandma A, neighborhood kids as well as the family. They would venture over old bridges and narrow dirt roads. Longer weekends often involved camping with everyone. Life was always an adventure at the Sinclair's.

Other family activites included skiing at Winter Park, where the condo was available to friends and family. The "Ranch" was established in 1983. The original house was expanded threefold with the help of family. "Gramps" was passionate about his horses and loved watching them out of the windows of the house in the fields below. One of Dick's favorite activites was mowing the north meadow on his Fordson tractor while wearing his overalls and worn hat. A second home was purchased in Bullhead City to escape the cold Colorado winters. They would dress up and "go across the river" and have some fun. If there was a Royal Flush, it was big news.

It was Dick's wish to quietly pass away at his beloved "Ranch". He requested no ceremony. The family will respect his wishes.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date to celebrate his life.
