Richard "Dick" Frank Salisbury, 87, passed away September 5, 2016.
He was born August 8, 1929 in Bellvue, Colorado to Walter and Norma Salisbury. He grew up on the family ranch in Rist Canyon, CO. He attended Laporte High School. He married the love of his life, Jeannine Knox on March 4, 1951. Soon after, he left his bride to serve his country in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged December 18, 1952 with the rank of Corporal and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars. Throughout the years he did not speak much of his time in Korea but was very proud of his service to his country. He was baptized in a river in Korea in 1951.
The couple soon added a daughter to their family. Dick worked most of his life as a carpenter. He worked several years at Colorado State University and retired from there as the supervisor of the Carpentry Department.
He loved the outdoors and being in the mountains especially when he could fish and hunt. He had many wonderful memories of fishing and hunting trips with family and friends. He loved watching the Denver Broncos. For many years he and his wife were active members of their church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Jeannine; his daughter Denise (Gerald) Martin of Ft. Collins; grandchildren Katrina Martin of Vermont, Brett (Wendy) Martin of Castle Rock; two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Walter and Norma (Baxter) Salisbury; brothers Robert Salisbury and James Salisbury.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
