Holy Family Church, 326 N. Whitcomb St, Fort Collins, CO 80521 Richard Ray "Richie" Martinez, 51, son of Phil and Carmen Martinez, died peacefully in Hospice care at Spring Creek Healthcare, Wednesday, August 28, 2013. He attended Gateway at a young age. Later it became Foothills Gateway which he attended continually through their Retirement group. He worked for Foothills Gateway in assembly work and housekeeping. He worked for Canino's Restaurant in food prep and the Dodge dealership in janitorial. He was a past member of Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus #1214 and Sons of the American Legion, Alonzo Martinez Post #187. Everyone that knew him knows he loved music and especially Elvis. He won many ribbons and medals through the years competing in Special Olympics. He also enjoyed skiing, bowling, fishing and big family dinners. He will be missed dearly by his Mom Carmen and Dad Philip; brothers and sisters: Eddie and wife, Connie Martinez, Yvonne and husband, Nano Cruz, LeeAnn, and husband, Gabe Marquez, Andrea and husband, Dan Leal, Paula and husband, James Claycomb, Philip and wife, Jen Martinez; nieces and nephews: Miranda, Jonathan, Adriano, Daniel, Caleb, Shanae, Roman, Gabe, Jessi, Rylee, Alonzo, Zachary, DeVonne, Dylan, Danae, Gage and Preston; step sister, Patty and husband, Ron with children Eddie, Ron and Raymond, along with his biological father, Edward Martinez and wife, Caroline. A very special thank you to all of his care givers at Foothills Gateway, Mosaic Group Home, Poudre Valley Hospital, Spring Creek Healthcare and Hospice of Larimer County.
