Richard Vincent Keith Jr., 69, of Ft. Collins, passed away on January 17, 2025 after an extended battle with cancer. He went peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, still able to enjoy the company of those he loved, with his sense of humor intact.

Rich was born April 3, 1955 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Richard V. Keith and Marie Louise Mitchell Keith. He attended Bates College in Maine on a football scholarship. Rich moved to Ft. Collins, CO 35 years ago and met his life partner, Karla Jones, 18 years ago.

Rich was an avid and accomplished golfer and enjoyed a multi-year tennis rivalry with his brother Tom. He was born with a zest for life, something he retained throughout his active life. Rich was a natural-born entrepreneur who established or co-established several successful businesses in Fort Collins. For the last decades of his career, he was engaged in the leisure travel industry. His personal goal was to blur the lines between working and the opportunity to travel for fun, something he achieved fully. At the peak of his career, the companies he had helped to establish owned properties throughout the world, including vacation homes in places like Tuscany, the British Virgin Islands, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina. For these efforts, he was recognized as Inc. Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year.

Survivors include his life partner Karla Jones of Ft. Collins; three children, Jessica Keith of Loveland, CO, Lauren Keith of Nashville, TN and Richard V. Keith, III of Ft. Collins; one brother, Tom Keith (Ann) of Ft. Collins, two nieces, Megan and Amy Keith both of Ft. Collins, and a granddaughter, Sophia Keith. Private services will be held in Ft. Collins and Watertown, MA with private interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown.
