It is with much sadness a great man, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, and Friend has gone into the arms of the Lord. He passed peacefully on the evening of April 7, 2022 at the age of 76 at home surrounded by family.
Dick was born to Alex and Mary (Bach) Dinkel on March 30, 1946 in Greeley, CO. He was the youngest of 11 children. The family later moved to Fort Collins
He joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served during the Vietnam War, 1964-1968. He was on the USS Haleakala AE25. After returning home he met Denise Radloff and they later married and were married for 51 years. They had 3 children, Rick (Stacey), Debb (Brian), Nikki (Mike) McAllister. Six Grandchildren, Kody (Kaylee), RyiLee (Justin), Austin Hollowell (Ashlee), Abbey Hollowell (Justin), Josslyn and Jacob. Two Great-Grandchildren Madilynn Hall, Hudsyn Hollowell. And a bonus son, Richard "Richie" Selway.
Dick owned his own painting business, Kolorado Paint Kompany for many years. He gained many special relationships through his business.
Dick loved to gather with family and friends, at his bar, the Red Cup Inn. Many good times, good friends and loud music (I love This Bar- Toby Keith).
Survived by wife, Denise, three children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brothers, Melvin (Etta), Cleo (Christine), Robert (Beth) and sister Betty Ann Delehoy.
Preceded in death his parents, brothers Ed, Hubert. Sisters Peggy Winter, Elvira David, Marie Crites, Dolores Clark.
A funeral service will be held at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Fort Collins, CO. on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Reception following at the American Legion, 2124 County Rd. 54G, Fort Collins, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Pathways Hospice in Richard Dinkel's name.
