Reinhold "Rheiny" Siegfried, 90, of Fort Collins, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Northern Colorado Medical Center Hospice Unit in Greeley. Mr. Siegfried was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Loveland to David Siegfried and Susie "Hermen" Siegfried. He was raised in Severance and attended Severance School through the eighth grade. He then attended high school in Eaton. In his early years he helped his father farm in Severance. Rheiny married Henrietta "Propp" on Feb. 3, 1940, in Cheyenne, Wyo., and continued farming in Severance and the Timnath area, retiring in 1972. They then moved to Fort Collins and he worked for Everett Enterprises until 1988. Rheiny reached the summit of Longs Peak twice. After retirement he played golf with four of his buddies almost every day. He walked hundreds of miles in the Foothills Fashion Mall and made many friends and acquaintances. He enjoyed playing billiards at the Senior Center and having early morning coffee at Toddy's. He was a charter member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor. Everyone he met became his instant friend. During his short stay at Northern Colorado Medical Center and Hospice he captured the hearts of all the nurses and personnel. His greatest love was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Siegfried, of Fort Collins. They were blessed with three children that survive him, a son, Larry Siegfried and his wife, Linda, of Fort Collins; two daughters, Karen Ehrlich, of Johnstown, and Beverly Torrez and her husband, Larry, of Greeley. He was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Peppler, of Denver. Mr. Siegfried is preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers and two adult brothers, Ed and Paul Siegfried. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 328 Walnut St., Windsor. A private interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor.
