Rebecca Louise Westcott was the oldest and first girl of five children, born to Edward and Sylvia Westcott. Becka was born on October 18, 1950 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria while her father was a Lutheran missionary there. Becka had many life experiences that forged her character, and she was not bound by the limitations of what women were supposed to do with their careers. She began first as an army nurse working with returning Vietnam veterans, and later as a psychiatric nurse, realtor, broker, and a custom homebuilder. Becka died unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism on November 3, 2011 at home. She is survived by her sisters, Deborah Westcott of Fort Collins and Lisa Jeff Rushlo of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Mark Janet Westcott of Frisco, Texas, and Tim Westcott Helen of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves behind beautiful stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and nephews. Inara, her Golden Doodle was her important companion, who never left her side, even in death. If all of Beck's dogs could talk, they would say that Becka was the kindest and most gentle human being they had ever met. A private family celebration will be held. Contributions may be made to Larimer County Humane Society in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
