Raymond (Shorty) Rein
August 3, 1921 - November 7, 2020

Raymond was born on August 3, 1921 to Daniel Rein and Lydia Filbert and raised in the Fort Collins area all his life. He farmed with his parents, then went on to farm the same land for 42 years with his wife Odelia (Tillie) Miller whom he married on February 15, 1948. They had two children.

He grew corn, hay, and barley for Coors Brewery and was top ten in sugar beet content numerous times. He also had cattle and a few dairy cows.

He enjoyed bowling and fishing with his brother, Smokey. He and his wife enjoyed dancing (Dutch Hop) and playing cards with friends. He and his farming buddies went to the CB (Charco Broiler) and had coffee.

He is survived by his daughter Virginia (Allen), and son Randy (Jackie); four grandsons, Brett (Clay), Brandon (Misty), Josh (Hildy) and Joey; eight great-grandchildren; Raylynn, Aven, Royce, and twins Axton and Ruett Guffey and Molly, Connor, and Hannah Rein; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Odelia; eight siblings, Daniel, Lydia, Molly, Rachel, twins Leah and Alex, Irene and Harold (Smokey); and a grandson, Blane.

He died peacefully at home where he wanted to be. Our love for him will live forever.

Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, 2001 N. High St., Denver CO 80205 or the organization of your choice.
