Raymond "Ray" E. Gowing

Raymond "Ray" E. Gowing, 75, of Fort Collins, went home to be with the Lord April 26, 2010 at the Medical Center of the Rockies. Mr. Gowing was born February 6, 1935 in Linn County, Kansas to Arthur and Anna "Barkley" Gowing. Ray married Leahrose on March 23, 1958 in Winfield, Iowa. They had two children, Steve and Melody. Mr. Gowing transferred to Fort Collins from Rockford, Illinois with Woodward Governor. He worked 35 years as a Mechanical Draftsman before retiring. Ray was a member of Timberline Church and served on the Deacon Board for many years. He also served as the Primetimers Pastor with Leahrose for 9 years. He enjoyed antique cars, and designing and building his homes. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Leahrose; son, Steve Gowing and his wife, Leann; daughter, Melody Fred and her husband, Darren; brother, John P. Gowing of Carl Junction, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Jacque Gowing of Pismo Beach, California, Andrew Gowing of Fort Collins, and Jessica Fred of Windsor. A Memorial Service will be held at Timberline Church in the Main Auditorium, 2908 S. Timberline Rd. on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dary Northrop will officiate the service.
