Randy was born May 9, 1958 in Columbia City, Indiana to Nicholas G. and Jessie Marie Carey of Fort Collins. Randy married Rhonda Rule on November 15, 1980 in Casper, Wyoming. The Carey family moved to Fort Collins, when Randy was 12; he graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1976. He attended Anderson University and graduated with a sacred music and vocal performance degree. In 1982 Randy and Rhonda founded and currently own and operate Big Horn Masonry Inc. Randy was respected for his work ethics in the community. He also enjoyed his passion for music by leading worship for the Men's Christian Business Conference and serving as the Music Minister of PEAK Community Church for twenty-five years. Randy put his whole heart in to everything he did. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. His friends say he was a good man and a hero to many. Randy gave everything willing and graciously to friends, family, and even strangers. He had a joyful spirit. He was a mentor to many and was known by the little ones as "Uncle Fester." He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed spending time in the mountains. He loved bow hunting and traveled worldwide in search of big game. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Carey; parents, Nicholas and Jessie Carey; sons, Jacob Paige Carey of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Nathan Carey of Fort Collins; sisters, Kim Haas and Kelly Carey both of Fort Collins; one grandchild, Leah Carey and another grandchild expected in March. A Service in celebration of Randy's life will be held at Timberline Church, Main Auditorium, 2908 S Timberline Rd. on Friday at 2:00pm. Pastor Greg Kendall will officiate the service.
