Ralph Forrester Day, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on August 15, 2009 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Ralph was born January 13, 1918, in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania where he married Edna Jane Williams in 1938. Edna Jane survives and still resides in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He is also survived by a son, Edward Day of Loveland; two daughters, Nancy Robbins of Ft. Collins, and Charlene Johnson of Tucson, Arizona, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Ralph moved his family to Colorado in 1948 where he worked in the trucking industry for many years and moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado in 1971 where he owned and operated Day's Sporting Goods on No. College Ave., until 1986. He was a charter and Life Member of the Arvada Elks Lodge #2278 and was an active member until his death. Ralph retired but never quit working. He loved to hunt and fish and he deeply respected the great outdoors. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 24 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado. Pastor James Murphy will officiate. Burial of Ralph's remains will take place at a private family ceremony prior to the memorial service. In lieu, of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Larimer County Food Bank in Ralph Day's name in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
