Rachel A. Castaneda

Rachel A Castaneda, 86, of Ft. Collins passed away September 2, 2026. She is preceded in death by her mother Natividad Mosqueda, father Dionicio Castaneda, sister Rosie Castaneda, brother Gilbert (Gebo) Castaneda and sister Julie Jimenez. Rachel is survived by her children Stephanie Castaneda and Matthew (Justine) Castaneda; grandchildren Kyle, Candace, Janae, Tashyla, Lexus, Mario and Jade, siblings Christie Pena, Henrietta (David) Echeverria, Debbie (Amos) Sanchez, Francis Castaneda, Monica (John) Weaver Dee (Rhonda) Castaneda, Valerie Padilla, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rachel was born and raised in Ft. Collins, Colorado, she worked for the Larimer County Assessors Office and retired in 2003 after 25+ years of service. After retirement she loved being surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching and cheering for her beloved Denver Broncos on Sundays and watching her favorite TV shows, she read her daily affirmations and especially loved staying up late.

Rachel would do anything for her family, she was a FAVORITE Auntie to many and the families eldest member. She will be remembered and still loved by so many.

Viewing will be held 12-4pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Rosary will begin at 9 am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 9:30am, Thursday, September 10, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
