Listen to Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2008. Piedad was born June 17, 1933, in Sonora, Texas, to Manuel Baldez and Elisa Sanchez de Baldez. She was an only child. On Jan. 18, 1950, she married Anacleto Rodriguez in Sonora, Texas. Piedad and Anacleto then moved to Plainview, Texas, and started a family. They had seven children, Manuel Rodriguez, Martha Elba Marquez, Elias Rodriguez, Alva Delia Arredondo, Edna May Chavez, Idalia Aguilar and John James Rodriguez. In 1965, Piedad and Anacleto moved their family to Fort Collins. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Piedad enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading novels, doing crossword puzzles, but her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her family and friends. She was affectionately called "Mama" by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Anacleto; her seven children, 23 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel; and her mother, Elisa. She was the definition of "Best Mom" and "Best Grandma." She will be truly missed by all and will live in our hearts forever! We love you Mama! A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Father Damian de la Cruz, C.R. will officiate at the service. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlender funeralchapel.com.
