It is with tender hearts that our family announces the passing of Phyllis Hurd, 83, of Loveland CO on March 21, 2023. Phyllis was born in Michigan on January 22, 1940 to her loving parents Robert and Beatrice (Smith) Roat of Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Though it may be relevant to mention Phyllis' academic and career accomplishments over the years; what survives is her sense of adventure, her love for family and friends, and her genuine openness to everyone she met.
Phyllis was drawn to nature and wildlife. She felt most grounded on her farmsteads caring for and raising many types of livestock. She chose to share that strong connection through her talent as an artist. Her many works will forever leave an indelible memory for her community, family, and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her loving family: husband William Goldthwaite of CO; daughter Adrienne Willis (Gordon) of MA; son Christopher Maley (Gena) of KY; sister Carol Koivu of MI; her 4 grandchildren Brittany Heil of MO, Madison Willis of OR, Zachary Maley of TN, Gordon Willis of MA; great-grandson Cameron Heil; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; lastly and dearly, her loyal pup Hilly to comfort us with his devoted, such-a-good-boy, companionship.
