Peggy J. Brown, 76, of Fort Collins, died March 3, 2009 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Brown was born April 24, 1932 in Marietta, Ohio, to Frank Reckard and Louise Allelly Reckard. Peggy married Delbert Thomas "Tom" Brown on November 6, 1955 in Wellington. Mrs. Brown was the bookkeeper at First Baptist Church for 21 years. She taught Sunday School to Kindergartners for 48 years. She was a leader in 4-H for 15 years. For many years she entered her applesauce cake, sweet peas, and chocolate cake in the Larimer County Fair. Survivors include; her two sons, Dale Brown and his wife, Terri, of Fort Collins, and Kyle Brown and his wife, Gena, of Green Bay, Wis.; a daughter, Pam Heeney and her husband, Stan; one brother, Frank Reckard, Jr. and his wife, Arlene of Conover, N. C.; two sisters, Janice and her husband, Ed Rice of Fort Collins, and Marge and her husband, Art Henneck, of Lakewood; seven grandchildren, Derrick and Kendra Brown, Mike, Greg, and Vicki Heeney, and Brandon and Sara Brown. Preceding Peggy in death are her parents and husband, Tom. A Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect Rd. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pastor Craig Fortunato will officiate at the services. Those who desire may view Mrs. Brown, 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
