Pearl Louise Stroh, 85, of Fort Collins, died June 17, 2005, at a local nursing home. Louise was born July 21, 1919, in Cedaridge to William Glenn Hunter and Charity Goodwin Hunter. Mrs. Stroh married Harold Stroh on July 3, 1937. They farmed together on the family farm where the Collindale Golf Course is now. Then in 1948, they purchased a farm three miles south of Wellington where they lived for 11 years. In the fall of 1959, they moved and eventually purchased a farm two miles north of Anheuser Busch Brewery, where they lived until their retirement in 1977. The family farm was sold to Colorado State University. They have lived in Fort Collins since their retirement and have enjoyed traveling to Spain, Hawaii, Germany, Canada, Panama, Alaska and throughout the continental United States. Louise was a partner in life and master of all tasks whether driving a tractor or truck, cooking or sewing. Louise enjoyed playing golf and bridge, knitting and sewing and was a 4-H assistant. She was a member of Eastern Star; First United Methodist Church for 50 years; and The Ram's Horn for 25 years. She was also a former member of the Fort Collins and Fox Acres country clubs. Louise is survived by her husband, Harold Stroh; a son, Thomas Harold Stroh; two daughters, Margaret Louise Stroh Collart and Carol Ann Stroh Heinze; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John Goodwin, William Anderson, Richard Lee and Philip A. Hunter; and one sister, Margaret Elizabeth Butterfield. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover St. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Schuster will officiate at the service.
