Listen to Obituary
Patti A. Haap, a cashier and homemaker, passed away peacefully at 1:20pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Poudre Valley Hospital from complications of Covid.

Patti was born August 1951 in Pomona, California. She was the youngest born to Lila E. Alwine (Ricks) and Robert E. Lee. Patti spent most of her childhood between Pomona and Palm Springs, CA. She enjoyed being with her family camping and spending time together.

After graduating high school, Patti became a young mother and had a daughter. She worked hard to support her young family but had a great support system with her family. She found love and married Maltin M Haap. Together they had a son. Patti loved her family and was an active participant in her children's activities. When her daughter played softball, she did too, and even coached teams. She was the biggest cheerleader at soccer and baseball games, swim meets and golf tournaments. She was also into golf and even bowled. She was also enjoying staying fit in other ways as well, with aerobics and dancing.

When Patti was 38, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy. This illness, unfortunately, slowed down her ability to stay active. Many years went by and her prognosis became worse. But after 9 years Patti was gifted a new life through a heart transplant! It came at a loss to a wonderful family but it was a way they could honor their precious daughter and save a stranger's life. This gift will forever be appreciated and loved forever.

Patti was able to resume her active life, although it was a little slower than before. She still enjoyed camping and fishing, she even participated in the Transplant Games. An Olympic style event for transplant recipients but also a place for donor families to gather and see first hand the results of their gift of life. She now had 2 grandchildren and 1 more a few years later, whom she adored. She played a big part in their upbringing. She lived with her daughter for a few years helping take care of the grand kids and then later with her son, helping him care for and raise his child. Her children are forever grateful for her dedication and caring to their children.

Through caring for her family, she also worked full time at Walmart as a cashier. She loved meeting new people every day. She made a lot of friends working there too. She was good at keeping in contact with many of them. The friendships she had were very important to her. She would enjoy going out to eat, movies, concerts and even drag some around to craft fairs. Her friendships had become a part of her family.

Patti is preceded in death by her mother Lila E. Alwine of Merced, CA, her father Robert E. Lee of Pomona, CA, her brother Dennis Lee of Oak Harbor, WA , and her brother Robert Lee of Dos Palos, CA.

Patti is survived by her daughter Casie Peppersack (Robert) of Helena, MT; her son Kenneth Haap of Ft Collins, CO; her sister Linda Anderson, of CA; granddaughter Amanda Harris of Casper, WY; grandson David Harris of San Diego, CA; grandson Kayson Haap of Ft.
