Listen to Obituary
Patsy Louise Galyardt was born in Fort Collins on October 7, 1939 to Thelma and Grover Fossett. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2022 in Loveland.
Patsy married Don Galyardt on November 20, 1955. They lived in Fort Collins after their marriage until moving to Loveland in 1983.
Patsy was employed at the US Department of Agriculture for 27 years and was a Research Biological Laboratory Technician. During this time, she also attended courses at Colorado State University. She served as the State Treasurer for the US Letter Carriers Auxiliary. Patsy volunteered at McKee Medical Center and also with the Loveland Police Department.
During the 40 years at their home in Loveland, they had many animals including horses, a cow, a lamb and many cats which delighted all the grandchildren. There are so many great memories for the family of all the time spent at their home.
After retiring, Don and Patsy enjoyed being "snowbirds" at their resort home in Apache Junction, Arizona. Patsy was involved in the Christians group and activities at the community including painting and ceramics. She always brought her beautiful new creations back to share with her family each spring. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Arizona.
Patsy and Don loved traveling, camping and fishing, taking many RV trips over the years. During the summer months they enjoyed spending time at their Colorado mountain cabin and hosted family get togethers there.
Patsy and Don were members of Faith Lutheran Church in Longmont.
Patsy struggled in her later years with the debilitating disease Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a form of Parkinsons. Even as the disease progressed, she strived to make the best of every day. She will be dearly missed by everyone in the family.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Don Galyardt, daughter Debra Ferrell (Rod), son David Galyardt (Joanie), her grandchildren Kimberli Grantham (Dustin), Katie Sturgill (Kevin), Neil Ferrell (Stephanie), Emily Galyardt, Drew Galyardt (Erika), her great grandchildren Kayli, Davin, Emmalyn, Everett, Natalie, Hannah and Brayden, sisters Betty Petri, Shirley Legg and Sharon Kennedy. She is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter Jenna Galyardt.
