On Sunday, June 21, 2026, Patrick "Pat" McGregor passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love.
Pat was a devoted husband, father, Papa, son, brother, teacher, and one of the finest mechanics in the industry. His sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Pat spent his life doing what he loved, working as a mechanic. He had a gift for seeing a project finished before it even began, and the skill to make it happen. Whether repairing equipment, restoring antique engines, or helping someone solve a problem, he approached every task with determination and confidence. He was also a natural teacher, always willing to share what he knew with his children, grandchildren, coworkers, and friends. Pat believed in doing things the right way and never hesitated to speak his mind and if you ever debated him, you were lucky to walk away with a draw.
Known for his quick wit, Pat often joked about his height. When someone mentioned he was short, his response was always, "My pants fit and my feet touch the ground, so I must be the right size."
Pat was fiercely loyal to those he loved and cared about. Following retirement, he and his wife, Lorri, fulfilled a dream of traveling through Scotland for three weeks. As the designated driver, Pat mastered sitting on the right side of the car while navigating the roads on the left side—a challenge he handled with his usual confidence and determination.
In retirement, he spent countless hours working on antique engines, buying them, taking them apart, rebuilding them, and bringing them back to life. Few things brought him more satisfaction than hearing an engine run again because of his hard work and expertise.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Paddy and Delores McGregor, and his grandparents.
Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lorri, the love of his life and his constant companion. He leaves behind his son, Cody, and his wife, Kate, and their two children, Lee and Evans, who brought him endless pride. He is also survived by his daughter, Amanda, and her husband, Don, and their six children — L.D., Piper, Ryker, Rue, Ren, and Nyx — each one a joy he cherished deeply.
Pat's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught, the projects he built, the engines he restored, and the family he loved so deeply. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
