Patricia Marlene Ardueser, "Munchkin or Patty to her family" was born May 8, 1951, to Otto A. Ardueser and Esther M.A. Ardueser. She transitioned to heaven on January 19, 2014. Patty was born with Down's syndrome which affected her speech primarily. Through the grace of God and the love and determination of her family and friends, Patricia didn't let anything hold her back. She attended the Easter Seal Center, Gateway Rehabilitation Center now Foothills Gateway Rehabilitation Center for over fifty years. She participated in Girl Scouts; Special Olympics both bowling and track and field; CSU swimming program; and monthly Dances provided by the Recreation Center. For a number of years she worked in the "Workshop" at Foothills Gateway doing detail work for different companies. Her meticulous work was her strong suit. She later was moved to the "Retirement" area after Alzheimer's set in.
Some of Patricia's favorite things were the American Flag, the BRONCOS, bowling, dancing, music of all kinds, especially Lawrence Welk, golfing, fishing, helping with clerical work, latch hook work, watching Matlock and Columbo, being around little children, especially babies, and above all being with her family and friends. Many of Patricia's accomplishments have been due to her encouragement and love of her mother, Esther Ardueser. Patricia had a way of endearing herself to anyone she met. She taught every member of her family the real meaning of love, patience, and determination. She had a wonderful sense of humor and in her younger days was quite an imaginative storyteller. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her mother, Esther Ardueser; two sisters - Judith Callicotte Del of Utah and Karen Oenning of Fort Collins; one brother – Allan Ardueser of Denver; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Otto A. Ardueser; her brother, Donald A. Ardueser; and her nephew, Brian P. Oenning. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Foothills Gateway for the many years of love, caring, and learning experiences extended to Patricia throughout her life. We would also like to express our appreciation to the Staff of the Fort Collins Health Care Center for the individual care and love extended to Patricia as she transitioned out of this life. Those who wish may view Patricia from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 531 S. College. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
