Paddy Charles McGregor was born on February 4, 1929, to Doc & Fern McGregor. On October 10, 2023, at the age of 94, he was called to service as a Guardian Angel. He grew up in the Livermore and Virginia Dale, Colorado. Paddy attended the local school schools and soon after school he serviced in the Army in the Korean War. After his return from the War, he meet Delores DeWitt. They were married on September 11, 1953. In February of 1954, Paddy & Delores moved to New Castle, Wyoming were Cheryl and Bobby were born. Then in 1955 they moved back to Bellevue, Colorado. In 1959 they welcome Patrick to make their family complete. Moving to different locations in Northern Colorado Paddy drove truck for Pat Griffin hauling gas, lumber for McClanahan's, State of Colorado as a truck driver and snowplow operator, and Don Kehn Construction hauling heavy equipment until he was injured in an accident in 1988. After the accident Paddy took early retirement. In retirement Paddy started serviced on the Military Honor Guard where he continued, he's service in Colorado & Arizona honoring many fallen veterans. He always said, "It's an honor to help show respect and help them rest in peace." Paddy serviced on the Honor Guard for 30+ years. One thing Paddy enjoyed was showing the Great Grandkids how to play cards and telling them stories of when he grew up. If ever came in contact with Paddy, he'd always tell you these stories to, over a cup of coffee or a one drink happy hour. Paddy & Delores had 66years of adventures from crafting, camping, fishing with the grandkids to spend winters in Arizona making friends from around the United States, and Canada.
Paddy is survived by: Daughter Cheryl (Rob) Kisner, Sons: Robert "Bobby" McGregor, and Patrick "Pat" (Lori) McGregor, 7 grandchildren, 21 Great grandchildren.
Paddy is proceeded in death with his wife Delores McGregor, parents Doc & Fern McGregor, Sister Shirley (Forrest) Moen, In-Laws Carl & Bernice DeWitt, Brother In-Law Jack DeWitt, & Grandson Robert Kisner Jr.
Graveside services will be held at the Virginia Dale Church on October 21, 2023 at 11am followed by a celebration of life at the American Legion in Laporte from 1pm to 4pm.
