Orville Eckman

Orville Eckman, of Fort Collins, died on October 1, 2009 at a Fort Collins nursing home. He was born on August 17, 1909 in Sedgwick County, Colorado to Walt and Hulda Bjorklun Eckman. He married Margaret Hohn in 1934. She passed away in 1990. Mr. Eckman farmed in the Haxtun, Colorado area most of his working life. Upon retirement from farming, he worked for Colorado State University. Mr. Eckman was a long time member of the Covenant Church, Haxtun and the First Baptist Church, Fort Collins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brother, Carl. Survivors include his three sons, Leland of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mervyn and Paul of Fort Collins. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Adam of Boulder, Zach, Greg, and Erik of Fort Collins, Dale of Phoenix and Debbie of Little Rock; five great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
