Orval Ben Poole was born July 15, 1929 in Silverton, Texas, and died peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Fort Collins after a lengthy illness.
Ben is survived by his brothers, Leon Poole of Colorado Springs, CO and Dale Poole of Fort Collins, CO; his daughter, Debbie Nix and spouse, Ray of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Kathy Delaney and spouse, Jim of Oklahoma; and son, Ben Poole, Jr. and spouse, Mary Ann of Idaho. Ben lost his wife, Marian (Mickey) of 65 years in April 2016. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He worked on the railroad at the age of 13 during World War II. After serving 4 years in the Navy he met his wife and married.
Ben and his wife lived in Fort Collins most of their lives and owned Ben's Diesel Service. He sold the business 21 years ago, and moved to Idaho where he and Mickey enjoyed gardening and fishing. They loved to go camping and just spend time with each other.
Ben and Mickey loved the Lord and ministered to many nursing homes in Fort Collins and in Idaho. They would hold Sunday services for the elderly.
Ben and his wife moved back to Colorado to reside with their oldest daughter, Debbie and her husband, Ray for almost three years. When Mickey passed away he moved in with his grandson, Mike Delaney and his wife, Lan and their 3 grandsons for 8 months when he became ill and was hospitalized.
He was always an honest man and one of integrity. He will be missed until we meet again.
