Ora Claude Daugherty, 83, of Macon, Missouri, formerly of Walden, Colorado, died January 25, 2010 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon. Ora was born March 1, 1926 in Hoxie, Kansas the son of Claude and Thankful Mary Matthews Daugherty. He married Virginia R. Clements on September 5, 1946 in Walden, Colorado and she preceded him in death on July 28, 1998. Ora served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a rancher for Stelbar Ranches in Walden, Colorado. In 1998 he moved to Salisbury to be near his son. Ora was a member of the Walden VFW Local 2371, lifetime member of the NRA, and Prairie Hill Christian Church in Prairie Hill, Missouri. Ora is survived by a son, Dal Daugherty and wife, Patricia of Salisbury; a daughter, Ramona Lister on Waverly, Tennessee; two brothers, John Daugherty of Denver and Claude Daugherty, Jr. of Johnstown, Colorado; two sisters, Eula Willford of Cowdrey Colorado; Della Mae Johnson of Laramie, Wyoming; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. His parents, wife, brother, Lloyd Daugherty; sister, Velda Rodriquez, and two grandchildren preceded him in death. Visitation is noon until 1:00 p.m., Saturday January 30, 2010 with services following at 1:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Collins.
