Oliver served his country in World War II in the Marine Corp. He was on the battlefield at Okinawa where he was wounded in the left arm and right leg. The left arm injury stayed with him for the rest of his life.
He was a Baptist pastor, preacher and soul winner. His churches were in CO, WA, and MT. Dedication to God and His word was his motivation to keep on doing what God had called him to do.
While he was pastoring churches, he always worked a regular job. Some of his places of employment were Seattle National Band in Seattle, WA, Boeing Aircraft in Renton, WA, Steele's Market in Ft. Collins, CO, Poudre Valley Dairy of Ft. Collins and Loveland, CO.
His work ethic was to work hard, always keeping busy. One of his last bosses told Oliver that he could always count on him, he was always on the job, and he was never late. He carried this kind of frame of mind through anything he did. Once he decided on a course of action, he never looked back always looking forward to accomplishing the goal.
From the time he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior he let God guide him in everything he would do. Always abounding in the work of the Lord.
