Norbert E. Pirkl, 89, of Pueblo, formerly of Fort Collins, died Jan. 18, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Pirkl was born Nov. 19, 1919 in Blooming Prairie, Minn. to Joseph Pirkl and Matilda Skalisky Pirkl. Norbert served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Norbert married Juanita F. Malone on Aug. 12, 1945 in Denver. Mr. Pirkl moved to Fort Collins in 1951 from California. He was an automobile and heavy equipment mechanic and a master craftsman. Survivors include his wife, Juanita F. Pirkl of Pueblo; his son, Larry Pirkl of Westminster; his daughter, Linda Jackson of Pueblo; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. Preceding Norbert in death are his parents; one brother; and one sister. A Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, at 2 p.m. on Friday.
