Nieves Tamez, 94, of Fort Collins passed away June 20, 2023, at home. Born on August 4, 1928, in Lovell, WY to Ester Garza and Jose Fuerte. The oldest of 11 siblings.
Nieves married Roberto Tamez in Harlingen, TX in June 1944. They moved to Fort Collins in 1967. Nieves was a homemaker and mother to Lupe (Tere), Chris (Dee), Jesse (Anita), Rick (Norma), Robert Jr and Dolores. Grandmother of 13, Great Grandmother of 19 and Great Great Grandmother of 6. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, watching Spanish novelas, yard sales and family gatherings. She loved that her family kept growing.
