Nicholas Benjamin Seaman passed away on January 11, 2011, after a valiant battle against cancer. Nick was born November 26, 1976, at Poudre Valley Hospital to Ken and Mary Seaman and grew up in Fort Collins. He attended Bauder, Blevins, and Rocky Mountain High School, graduating in 1995. As a youth, Nick followed his older brother's passion for basketball and continued the "Wheelers" neighborhood basketball games and tournaments. In 1988 Nick was Colorado's first place winner in his age group at the Pepsi Hot Shot Competition held in Denver. He later placed third in the 1988-89 National Pepsi Hot Shot Finals held in Cleveland. Nick continued to play basketball in high school. After high school, Nick received a degree in audiology and began pursuing his master's degree in special education while working at O'Dea Elementary School with autistic children. Nick had an incredible gift in working with kids. Nick married Erin Brown on July 23, 2004, at Beaver Meadows Resort and they made their home in Campion with a beautiful view of mountains and horse pastures in their backyard. Nick and Erin loved spending time there with friends, family, their dogs, and cat. When they weren't home, Nick, Erin, and his friends traveled to concerts all over the country and spent as much time as they could in the mountains. After receiving his master's degree, Nick worked at Reflections for Youth in Berthoud, making a difference in the lives of troubled kids. He continued his teaching career at Fossil Ridge High School, where he also coached girls' basketball. In 2009, Nick and Erin were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Stella Mae. Family and friends will remember Nick's ability to make everyone laugh and his love of music, mountains, and the St. Louis Cardinals. The "guys" will cherish memories of Wheelers and Strato games, concerts, games, and Yellow Sub. His family will miss his funny stories and laughter. He leaves his wife and daughter, Erin and Stella; parents, Ken and Mary Seaman of Fort Collins, sister, brother-in-law, and niece, Julie, Tim and Jacqueline Rickett of Fort Collins, and his brother, Brian Seaman of Gig Harbor, WA. He also leaves his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Janice Brown of Loveland, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kirsten Brown and Chad Clark and their children Leiden and Maya of Fort Collins; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carrie Brown and Joseph Tatar and their children, Xander and Zahra of Steamboat Springs, as well as a host of other relatives and legions of friends. A memorial service for family, friends, and the Fossil Ridge High School Community will be held Friday 5pm at Fossil Ridge High School, 5400 Ziegler Road, in Fort Collins following a family graveside service. A college fund will be set up for Nick and Erin's daughter, Stella. Memorial contributions to her fund may be made to Erin Seaman, 2835 Schooners Court, Loveland, Colorado 80538.
